pyphi.substrate.maximal_complex

pyphi.substrate.maximal_complex(substrate, state, candidates=None, **kwargs)

Return the complex with maximum φₛ over the substrate.

Equivalent to the first element of complexes(). Returns a null-object Complex (falsy, with empty units) when no irreducible candidate exists.

Parameters:

• substrate (Substrate)

• state (tuple[int, ...])

• candidates (Iterable[Any] | None)

• kwargs (Any)
