- pyphi.formalism.iit3.evaluate_partition(partition, unpartitioned_system, unpartitioned_ces, **kwargs)[source]#
Compute the system irreducibility for a given partition.
The partition is applied to the system, the partitioned system’s distinctions are computed, and φ is the CES distance (
pyphi.measures.ces.ces_distance()) between the unpartitioned and partitioned distinctions.- Parameters:
partition (DirectedBipartition) – The partition to evaluate.
unpartitioned_system (System) – The system without a partition applied.
unpartitioned_ces (Distinctions) – The cause-effect structure of the unpartitioned system.
kwargs (Any)
- Returns:
IIT3SystemIrreducibilityAnalysis – The Φ analysis for that partition.
